Recent corporate failures have shaken investor confidence in corporate governance, accounting and auditing standards, as well as disclosure policies of publicly listed companies. Market participants, national authorities, international standards setters and international organizations have set in train many initiatives to address these shortcomings.
The FSF Secretariat has prepared, based on publicly available information, a Compendium presenting a synopsis of selected recent and ongoing initiatives among FSF members to deal with issues of corporate governance, accounting, audit and disclosure standards, conflicts of interest, and credit rating agencies brought to light by recent events.
The FSF considered these issues at its March 2003 meeting in Berlin (see press release) and September 2003 meeting in Paris (see press release).
The Compendium has been last updated on 18 September 2003. |
